Uses an optimal 24” of material width, lowering costs & reducing waste.
Projection should not be modified. Mounting height and window size should be designed based on project conditions such as building orientation, latitude, etc (see Light Shelf 101 page for details).
Length of shelf: Shelf sections & mounting surfaces must align in linear plane
Minimum run: 1 section
Maximum run: Infinite # of sections.
Section Widths (nominal CL-CL of clips)
Minimum: 8”
Optimal: 4’-0” or 5’-0”
Maximum: 6’-0”
Maximum: 6’-11 1/2” (with signed waiver)
Profile:
Standard BrightShelf® Ogee (cyma-reversa) curve. 25¼” projection.
2 ¼” section height at window.
2” overall drop from mounting height to lowest point of curve.
Mounting Height: Usually determined by window height, project latitude, building orientation, ceiling level, etc.
Minimum distance between BrightShelf® & Ceiling = 16”
1 1/8” Standard gap in-between sections in continuous runs.
1” gap @ sidewall mount clip. Clip tight to sidewall.
1” min. gap @ shelf ends or abutting to sidewalls.
1/8” gap @ horizontal curtianwall (if present, but not required)
Mounting Method: Standard BrightShelf® Rotational Clip.
Standard clip: Holes thru back of clip (1/4” fasteners). Center clips support 1 edge of 2 shelves and End clips have solid ear on one side, in left hand or right hand configurations. For attachment to:
